Revisions to the policies outlining requirements for MSU Youth Programs were announced to registered youth program directors and coordinators in July 2018. This provide an overview of the policy revisions and insight from MSU youth program directors and coordinators who have made adjustments to their programs to comply with the updated policy requirements.
This workshop will focus on assisting MSU Youth Program Directors and Coordinators who are developing or revising their handbooks and orientation materials.

This program was designed for MSU Youth Program Directors and Coordinators to use expert guidelines and advice from Michigan State University Police to be able to react and respond appropriately to incidents of active violence.
The Prevention, Outreach, and Education Department and the MSU Youth Programs: Registration, Safety Assurance, and Education Program are launching a pilot of the Strengthening Safety training program, which will prepare Youth Program Directors and Coordinators to effectively and consistently prepare their program staff and volunteers to appropriately respond, report, and provide support in instances of disclosed or suspected child maltreatment, relationship violence, sexual misconduct, and violations of the Anti-Discrimination Policy. Participants of the pilot training program will be asked to provide feedback at the conclusion of the training program. This will provide participants with an opportunity to assist us as we shape the direction of training on this important topic for MSU Youth Programs.
